Making a contribution to a Blog

Links to Blogs can be located in various places within a course. In this example, however, we will continue on the basis of a Blog linked from the course menu:

You now see an overview of the various blogs in this environment:

Under Type, this overview also shows the various types of Blogs:

  • Course Blog:
This allows all students who are registered for the course to write entries.
  • Individual Blog:
This only allows the Blog owner to write entries.
  • Group Blog:
This can be read by all course members, but only group members can write entries.

Creating a Blog entry

From the Blog list in the example, select Global Warming. Then click on Create Blog Entry.

Enter a name for your blog entry:

Attachments can be added in Field 2, Blog Entry Files.

You can save an unfinished entry as Draft (Save Entry as Draft):

A Draft is not yet published, so you can return later to finish the entry before publishing it and sharing it with others.

To publish your blog, select Post Entry. The published blog entry is now displayed on the Blog page.
