Assessment tools and the Grade Center

Downloading and uploading the Grade Center

With the Work Offline option (in the top right corner of the Full Grade Center screen), you can download the results from the Grade Center to your computer, or upload results that you have saved elsewhere to the Grade Center.

If you want to download lists of grades, click on Download Grades.

The following screen will be displayed:
GradeCenter-Download

  • Select the options of your choice.
  • Click on submit

You can then open or save the Excel file.

If you want to upload results correctly in Blackboard, it is also possible to upload a file of the same text format to the Blackboard Grade Center. The easiest way to do this is to download the file first:

  • Download the excel file as described above. You will see “Needs Grading” in the courses where a student has submitted an assignment. Enter the assignment here in the way you have chosen in the settings of the assignment (figure with or without decimals, letter, percentage, etc.)
  • Save the file (save as: Unicode text) and import it into Blackboard by choosing Upload Grades in the Grade Center.
  • You first get a screen where you can check whether the assessment is correct. Under the column “UPLOAD” you can use the check mark to select whether you want to import in Blackboard.
    • Note: If there are no check marks, look under the column “DATA PREVIEW”. If there is “some Invalid Data”, you have entered an assessment that does not match the settings of the assignment. This is shown in the assignment settings:  Edit assignment> Grading> Display or Grades> Display grade as ….
  • Click Submit
