Creating Tests
Fill in Multiple Blanks
With this question type, candidates are given a sentence with multiple blanks in it. Each blank has to be filled in with the right information. The following steps need to be taken to create a question of this type:
In the Question Text, replace the blanks with variables between square brackets (e.g., a, b, x, y, blank_1) [1] [a]:
Specify whether partial credits are allowed:
The questions (after ‘Next’) have 3 choice options: Contains, Exact Match and Pattern Match. Below is an explanation of how the scores are calculated for ‘Allow Partial Credit’.
For instance if you have 3 blanks to fill, therefore 3 answers:
1st answer: contains: Franklin
2nd answer: exact match: Goofy
3rd answer: pattern match: M.n.i. OR M[a-z]n[a-z]i[a-z] // being the expected answer Minnie
Then each answer value will be 33.33% out of the total points assigned to the question.
1st answer: if the student answer is “Benjamin Frankling”, he will get 33.33% points of the question, if he answers “Ben F”, he will get “0”
2nd answer: if the student answer is “Goofy”, he will get 33.33% points of the question, if he answers “goofy”, he will get “0”
3rd answer: if the student answer is “Minnie”, he will get 33.33% points of the question, if he answers “Minie”, he will get “0”
